Student Success Skills (STU) students learn skills, behaviors and attitudes to help them be successful in college. The main topics of the STU courses include study skills, time management, career exploration, goal-setting, assessment of personal strengths and weaknesses, enhanced communication skills, an introduction to critical thinking and awareness of college resources.
After completing STU courses, students will be able to apply study skills techniques, conduct library research, navigate the college web page and on- campus resources, create educational degree plans, and create job search tools, such as résumés and cover letters.
STU courses are often offered in Learning Communities (two or more joined courses). Students in STU150 will have the opportunity to participate in a community service project.
Student Success Skills courses are offered on the Prescott, Verde Valley and Prescott Valley campuses.
