In our continuing effort to help students find financial resources beyond federal and state grants and Yavapai College Scholarships we have developed the Interactive Scholarship Search.
Interactive Scholarship Search
The criteria for most outside scholarships falls into just a few categories: field of study, grade point average or test scores, financial need and group membership. Some scholarships are awarded based on a combination of criteria. Even if you do not have outstanding grades or significant financial need, don't let that stop you from researching and applying for scholarships.
Each Scholarship donor may require different documents to apply for their scholarship. Assemble the most common documents in advance to speed the application process. These may include:
- A completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (www.fafsa.ed.gov)
- Transcripts
- Letters of recommendation from teachers or a professional in your field of study
- Prior year tax forms
- Essay
We hope that you will use this list of outside scholarships as a place to begin your search for additional financial resources. Remember, a scholarship can help you pay tuition and lab fees, purchase textbooks and supplies and meet other living expenses while attending college.
Be sure to check this site often, as we are continuously updating the site with more scholarships and improvements. Our list is by no means comprehensive. If you know of a scholarship that does not appear on our list, please feel free to email that information including the sponsor's website to prescott_financial_aid@yc.edu.
