Singer, Songwriter Jill Cohn to Perform at YC
 Singer, Songwriter Jill Cohn
Singer, songwriter, pianist and guitarist Jill Cohn will perform at Yavapai College’s Verde Valley Campus on Thurs., Sept. 24, 2009 from Noon to 1:00 p.m. in Building M, Room 137. The concert is free and open to everyone.
Yavapai College’s Verde Valley Campus is located at 601 Black Hills Drive in Clarkdale.
Enjoy Jill Cohn’s expressive melodies, lilting voice and rich musical arrangements in her first appearance at Yavapai College.
“Jill Cohn is a multi-talented musician who will ‘wow’ you from the first note she sings. Her music is real and touches upon so many themes and topics central to our lives. Her voice is soothing, soulful and very dynamic. I encourage everyone to experience her music,” said Tori Scott, student activities coordinator for the Yavapai College Verde Valley Campus.
The Seattle-based Cohn has released eight critically acclaimed recordings, including her new compact disc Every Street Inside of You ~ Mexico City which was released in early 2008. She escaped south to Mexico where she lived for two years for the express purpose of writing music. While in Mexico City, she emerged from a long bout of writer’s block with a fresh, hip sound still rooted in folk/pop music.
Cohn has opened concerts for several national artists such as Jewel, Stacey Earle, Loudon Wainwright III and Dave Matthews and was a top-five finalist in the Lilith Fair Talent Search. The Seattle Times calls her “…one of Seattle’s best singer, songwriters.”
