YC Celebrates 40 Years of Nursing Excellence
.jpg)
Yavapai College has trained and educated students in the nursing field for 40 years. On Saturday, October 24, 2009, generations of Yavapai College nursing graduates will gather at the Prescott Resort for a reunion and to celebrate 40 Years of Nursing Excellence.
Past and present graduates, students and faculty from Yavapai College will have a chance to catch up with friends and former classmates for a day of cherished memories and great fun. Participants can take advantage of tours of the Prescott Campus from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Then, check-in at a social mixer and auction preview at the Prescott Resort at 5:30 p.m. Evening events, from 6:30 - 10:00 p.m., at the Prescott Resort include live music, an auction, interesting and entertaining speakers and, of course, a delicious gourmet dinner.
“This special event is meant to honor nursing graduates from Yavapai College, to celebrate 40 years of educating nurses and to look ahead to the future of nursing education,” said Barbara Claybaugh, director of the alumni outreach network at Yavapai College. “Proceeds will benefit the Yavapai College Nursing Student Support Fund, started by the nursing class of 2008 as a class gift. The event is truly about the past and the future.”
Underwritten by Yavapai College, the Yavapai College Foundation and Yavapai Regional Medical Center, the event will underscore the importance of supporting YC’s Nursing Program which will experience a significant decline in funding from state and federal levels in 2010 and could exacerbate a growing nursing shortage in Yavapai County. For more information about the Yavapai College Community Health Initiative and how you can help, visit wwww.yc.edu.
Tickets for the event are $45 per person and are still available by contacting Barbara Claybaugh at 928.776.2359, or email Barbara Claybaugh@yc.edu or visiting Yavapai College’s website: www.yc.edu/Alumni.
Hurry! Tickets are going fast! Come Celebrate 40 Years of Nursing Excellence at Yavapai College!
