YC International Festival

“In diversity there is beauty and there is strength” says author, Maya Angelou. Learn more about and experience diverse cultures from around the world with food, dance and fun at Yavapai College’s second annual International Festival on Sat., Oct. 24, 2009 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. The event takes place at YC’s Prescott Campus in the courtyard between buildings #3 and #4. Admission to the event is free and open to the public.
Try exotic foods, listen to beautiful music and watch traditional dances from countries near and far. “It’s a great way to get a taste of life in foreign lands right in your own back yard,” said Becca Stein, co-advisor to the Yavapai College Multi-Cultural Club. “Learning more about cultures different from our own helps increase our understanding of and appreciation for the rich tapestry of our world. It’s a fun way to spend an afternoon and experience something new.”
Try your chances by purchasing a raffle ticket from the Yavapai College Multi-Cultural Club and you might win items from abroad. Tickets are only $2 and proceeds help support the Yavapai College Multi-Cultural Club.
Yavapai College’s International Festival is sponsored by the YC Multi-Cultural Club, the YC Advisory Committee on Diversity and Inclusion, YC Student Activities and Sodexo Food Services.
