Parenting Workshop: Positive Guidance & Discipline

The Del E. Webb Family Enrichment Center at Yavapai College will hold a parenting workshop entitled “Positive Guidance and Discipline” on Sat., Oct. 24, 2009, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. The workshop will be held in Building #1, Room 200 at the Prescott Campus of Yavapai College. The workshop is free. Call 928.776.2111 by Wed.,Oct. 21st to register.  
 
Learn how to provide positive guidance and discipline for children ages 2 – 5 years old. Wendy Watson, Early Childhood Professional and mother of three, will discuss strategies and techniques for giving children the skills they need to cope with life – allowing them to take risks and practice decision making within set boundaries to produce children who are secure and self-controlled.  
 
Free child care will be provided at The Family Enrichment Center on campus during the workshop for those who sign up in advance. Child care is available for children ages 3 months to 6 years, although space is limited. Please call 928.776.2111 to sign up for childcare during the workshop.  
 
The Del E. Webb Family Enrichment Center at Yavapai College is a child development center that offers a safe and nurturing child-centered program that is focused on promoting children’s learning. The FEC enrolls children between the ages of three months through five years of age. The FEC is a laboratory school, which means that students pursuing a teaching career with young children have an opportunity to work under the guidance of master teachers at the facility.
