4th Annual Scholastic Book Fair at Yavapai College

The holidays are just around the corner, so why not give the gift of reading this year? The Yavapai College chapter of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) will hold their 4th Annual Scholastic Book Fair. The book fair will take place over three days, Nov.2-4, 2009 in the Yavapai College Library, Community Room, (Bldg. 19, Rm. 147) on the Prescott Campus from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily.
This year’s book fair theme is “Destination Book Fair – Read Around the World” and will feature new and classic titles for children of all ages, from infant, toddlers and preschoolers to primary, middle and high school ages. From easy readers to picture books, to best selling titles, the book fair connects children with books they want to read.
Students from the Yavapai College Early Childhood Education program will help organize this community event. Proceeds from the book fair will help provide books and support literacy throughout area early childhood programs.
“We encourage area preschools, child care centers, home care providers, and especially parents of young children to come to the book fair,” said LeAnne Lawhead, faculty member of the Early Childhood Education program. “We want to provide an opportunity for our greater community to benefit from these great books at reasonable prices.”
Scholastic, the global children's publishing, education and media company, has a corporate mission supported through all of its divisions of helping children around the world to read and learn. Recognizing that literacy is the cornerstone of a child's intellectual, personal and cultural growth, for over 85 years, Scholastic has created quality products and services that educate, entertain and motivate children and are designed to help enlarge their understanding of the world around them.
