Yavapai College’s Prescott Campus Fitness Center, closed by pandemic restrictions since March 2020, will reopen Tuesday, July 6, and resume hours of operation.

"We have been working closely with Facilities, executive leadership and the School of Health & Wellness Dean to make sure that we were clear to open," YC Fitness Facilities Coordinator Paula Tomitz says. "We have been anticipating opening back up for a while now so all cleaning and signage is already in place."

The Fitness Center, with its full complement of free weights, weight machines and cardio equipment, will be available to students and community members at the following schedule:

  • Monday – Friday: 6 to 9 a.m.; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The Pool is also open to the public for open swim hours, having reopened to the public on June 7. Hours can be found at yc.edu/pool

Housed in Building 2 on the Prescott Campus, YC’s Fitness Center and pool are staples of the College’s Health & Wellness courses and double as an indoor exercise and recreational resource for the community. The College charges a daily rate of $5 for the pool or the Fitness Center, payable in cash to the Lifeguard or Fitness Center Attendant. Monthly passes are also available for purchase at the Cashier in Building 1 or online. For fulltime faculty, staff and students the monthly rate is $12.50 and the daily rate is $2. School-aged children, (6-18) may use the pool at the $2 daily rate.
