Yavapai Baseball completed their Home Opener game earlier today, where they would go on to win 19-1 over the visiting Roadrunners of Scottsdale Post Grad!

The score was tied 1-1 entering the bottom of the 4th inning, and before the 4th inning was completed, the Roughriders scored 18 runs straight and would complete the game after the top of the 5th inning!

This game featured a one-run Home Run from Yavapai County-native Dalton Irwin, who would end up batting in 4 runners total on the day.

Derek Kiepke ended his day with 5 RBI, while Parker Halvorson, Aukai Araujo-Waiau, Isaiah Godina, and Carter Brown all had 2 RBIs each.

Kiepke also had 2 extra base hits, including a double and a triple. Tarrell Reid and Lucas Tobin were each able to steal a base as well.

Starting pitcher Joseph Talas had 3 strikeouts in 2 innings, and winning pitcher Josh Adler had 3 K's in 2 frames as well. All three pitchers, including Carson Sanchez, gave up just one hit apiece in the 5 total innings pitched.

Yavapai Baseball ended the day with a 19-1 final score, and they are now 2-2 on the season.

Yavapai's next game is at home on Saturday, February 14th. They will be playing a double-header against Ottawa University of Arizona, beginning at Noon and 2 PM.
