In October, Yavapai College and the PV Chamber of Commerce honored sixteen outstanding Latino businesses for the services they provide to the Prescott Valley community.

José Bautista from Carnicería Azteca, Rosanna Feyerabend of Alianza Spanish News, Nick Alvarez from Alvarez Tires and representatives from The Donut Hole, were among those who received certificates and gift baskets from Prescott Valley Chamber President Marnie Uhl and YC Hispanic Outreach Director Lisa Raygoza.

“Hispanic Heritage Month is such an important period,” Raygoza said. “It gives us the opportunity to acknowledge and applaud our Hispanic community members and business partners for their contributions to our community. They play a valuable role by bringing culture, community involvement and revenue to our local economy.”

Hispanic businesses make up one of the fastest-growing sectors of the economy. A recent Stanford University study says Latino-owned businesses have increased 34% since 2010, contributing more than $500 million dollars to the economy each year.
