Google IT Support Pro Certificate

Yavapai College has partnered with Google to offer Yavapai County residents an opportunity to earn the Google IT Support Professional Certificate entirely from home.

This is an accredited course that will teach you skills needed to start you on a career path in IT support, one of the fastest growing fields in the United States.


The program stems from the Grow with Google, an initiative created to ensure that the opportunities created by technology are available to everyone. The course is hosted by Coursera, a learning system that partners with top universities and organizations to offer courses online. The Yavapai certificate includes two courses: CNT 102 and CNT 103. No prerequisites. You will learn about troubleshooting, customer service, networking, operating systems, system administration, and security.

How to apply for this program

1. Apply for admission to Yavapai College

2. Once you are admitted as a student go to your YC portal account

When you are in the portal, search for "Classic Registration" and apply for "CNT102" and "CNT103"

3. If you have any questions during the registration process contact the Answer Center, or click on the green chat icon in the bottom right hand corner of the page.

Google Course Curriculum

Topic 1: Technical Support Fundamentals - This course covers a wide variety of topics, and it is designed to give an overview of what’s to come in the Google IT Support Professional Certificate coursework.

Topic 2: The Bits and Bytes of Computer Networking - Covers everything from the fundamentals of modern networking technologies and protocols to practical applications and network troubleshooting.

Topic 3: Operating Systems and You: Becoming a Power User - How to use Windows and Linux, including the main components of an operating system and how to perform critical tasks

Topic 4: System Administration and IT Infrastructure Services - This course will transition learners from working on one computer at a time to working with a whole fleet of computers

Topic 5: IT Security: Defense Against the Digital Dark Arts - This course covers a wide variety of IT security concepts, tools, and best practices.
