The policies below provide guidance on the financial aid process at Yavapai College. Click on the heading for more information.
This policy explains how your credits attempted and grades earned affect your eligibility for continued financial aid funding.
All financial aid recipients at YC are required to meet minimum SAP standards by maintaining a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better AND a 66% or better rate of progression.
Rate of progression is measured by the total number of earned credits divided by the total number of attempted credits. Rate of progression is not semester based but includes ALL credits attempted and earned at YC and other schools you previously attended.
Also the number of total attempted credits is reviewed to determine if you have reached Maximum Time Frame (MTF) suspension. Per Federal regulations, you must complete your degree or certificate once you have attempted 150% of the credit hours required to complete the program. This is generally 96 attempted credits at YC. Student can be MTF suspended for additional reasons, refer to the SAP policy for details.
