The American Job Center at Yavapai College celebrated the grand opening on its Prescott Campus with a ribbon-cutting event on April 28, marking a significant milestone in expanding workforce and career support services for the Yavapai County community.
Located in Building 1 on the Prescott Campus, the center brings together employment, education and workforce partners in a centralized location designed to support job seekers, students and employers. The center provides access to career guidance, job search support, training referrals and employer connections that promote economic opportunity and workforce readiness across the region.
“The American Job Center represents our commitment to serving as a bridge between education, business and opportunity,” said Yavapai College President Dr. Lisa Rhine. “By creating a welcoming, accessible space for workforce services, we are strengthening our local economy and helping individuals connect to meaningful career pathways.”
Yavapai county dignitaries, college leaders and workforce partners gathered at the grand opening to recognize the collaborative effort behind the center and its role in supporting Yavapai County’s evolving workforce needs.
“This center is about people, their goals, their challenges and their hopes for a better future,” said Dr. Marylou Mercado, Yavapai College Vice President of Workforce Development and Health Sciences. “Every individual who seeks these services deserves support, respect and opportunity. The American Job Center reflects our belief that when we invest in people, we strengthen families, businesses and our entire community.”
The Prescott-based center has already demonstrated its regional impact through workforce initiatives, including large-scale job fairs that connect employers with job seekers across multiple industries. Recent events have highlighted strong demand for workforce connections and reinforced the center’s role as a hub for employment support and community partnership.
The American Job Center at Yavapai College is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Yavapai College’s Prescott Campus. Walk-in visits are welcome, and appointments are also available.
