Clarkdale, Arizona — Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Yavapai College is bringing an exciting season of in-person learning, creativity, and connection to the Verde Valley this summer with a vibrant lineup of classes at the Clarkdale campus.

Beginning June 8, OLLI invites adults of all backgrounds to explore new ideas, revisit lifelong passions, and connect with a welcoming community of learners. 

This summer’s offerings include music appreciation, memoir writing, global history, wellness, and personal enrichment. Highlights include Music Masterpieces, Miles Davis – Jazz Legend, Creative Memoir, Historical Background of Current Events, Brain Boost, and Perfecting the Fine Art of Doing Nothing.

Participants can also explore global perspectives through courses such as Act 1 of China–US Relations and Things to Know About Costa Rica, while aspiring instructors can learn how to develop and lead their own course in Create, Plan, and Launch Your Own OLLI Class.

“OLLI classes are designed to inspire curiosity, encourage conversation, and build community,” said Tricia Berlowe, Director of OLLI. “Whether someone wants to learn something new, meet new friends, or stay intellectually engaged, there is truly something for everyone.”

Known for its affordable, interactive classes and welcoming atmosphere, OLLI at Yavapai College continues its mission of making lifelong learning accessible, engaging, and fun.

OLLI will host an Open House on Tuesday, June 9, at the Yavapai College Verde Campus, 601 W Black Hills Dr, Clarkdale, Building G. The open house will feature a campus tour at 8:30 a.m. (registration required), facilitator meet-and-greet at 10:30 a.m., pizza at noon, and an informational session on becoming an OLLI facilitator at 1 p.m. More information is available at www.yc.edu/olli.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is a member-driven program offering non-credit educational experiences for adults who value learning for the joy of it. Courses span arts, history, science, wellness, and more, fostering connection, curiosity, and community.
