Yavapai College will be reducing the tuition for online concurrent high school students by 50% for the upcoming 2022-2023 academic year.

The Yavapai College District Governing Board (DGB) unanimously approved the proposed discount at its monthly board meeting on Tuesday.

Concurrent enrollment consists of high school students who take college classes at Yavapai College, and the discount applies to online students only.

The 50% tuition discount will drop the price to roughly $49 per credit for most classes (lab and market-based classes prices may differ).

“Education should be accessible and affordable for everyone, and at Yavapai College, we strive to make that a reality,” said Dr. Lisa B. Rhine, President of Yavapai College. “High school students who take college classes get a significant jumpstart on completing their educational goals at a faster, higher success rate.”

In addition to the new concurrent enrollment discount, YC offers discounts for:

  • Senior Citizens 65+ (50% discount)
  • Out of State Athletes (50% discount)
  • High School Students taking Dual Credit Classes (~90% discount)

Yavapai College remains one of the most affordable options for higher education in Arizona. Compared to the national community college average, YC’s tuition is:

  • 40% below the average for full-time students
  • 25% below the average for part-time students

Students can save an estimated $19,000 by attending Yavapai College for their freshman and sophomore years rather than going to a four-year AZ university. Enrollment for the spring semester is now open, and classes are filling fast.
