Nix comes to YC from Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP), where she has served as Chief of Organizational Development since 2015. She will begin her post at Yavapai College in January.
She brings 30 years of experience to YC, including 15 years in education. She has extensive experience in organizational development, employee engagement, training, leadership development, and company environment advancement.
“I am excited to welcome Dr. Nix to Yavapai College,” said Dr. Lisa Rhine, President of Yavapai College. “Her expertise and extensive experience in human resources will have an immediate impact on the College, and I am excited to begin working with her.”
The CHRO at Yavapai College reports to the College President, provides strategic leadership by articulating the human resource strategy development, and advises the executive leadership team on human resource issues and needs in support of the institution’s overall business plan and strategic direction.
Before IEHP, Nix worked as the Chief Learning Officer for the Hospital Sisters Health System in Illinois, encompassing 13 hospitals and three integrated physician networks, including 15,000 employees. Previously, she worked as Assistant Vice President of Learning and Curriculum at St. Mary’s Medical Center and as Dean of Instruction at Victor Valley Community College District.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Welfare and Master of Public Administration from California State University, Sacramento. Dr. Nix also earned her Doctor of Educational Leadership from the University of LaVerne.
