Registration has opened for the Fall 2, 2023 classes to be held at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Yavapai College, from Monday, October 23 to Friday, December 8. There will be no classes Friday, November 10, or Thanksgiving week. The new catalog of classes is available in several locations including the OLLI offices at the Sedona Center, 4215 Arts Village Drive, Sedona and the Verde Valley Campus, 601 Black Hills Drive, in Clarkdale. The catalog is also available online at www.yc.edu/ollisedonaverde.  Registration may be completed at www.yc.edu/ollisvregister.

In addition to a wide variety of class subjects, OLLI offers interesting events throughout the term. On Friday, October 27, OLLI at Yavapai college will celebrate its 30th anniversary at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre. RSVP for this event at www.yc.edu/ollisvRSVP by October 20. 

The public is invited to the OLLI BROWN BAG series which is offered free of charge every Tuesday at the YC Verde Valley Campus in Clarkdale from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Invited speakers will present information about a wide range of topics, including community issues and programs.

No registration is needed for the OLLI Coffee Klatch on Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. at the YC Sedona Center Café until December 6.

Perhaps you would like to teach a class at OLLI!  The participation of both interested new facilitators and those that have taught at OLLI in the past is most welcome, and OLLI encourages potential class facilitators to submit class proposals for Winter 2024 by October 23. The artist for the months of September and October has been Dana Cohn.  The exhibit continues until October 23 from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. weekdays in the Sedona Center Lounge. On November 1, artist Irene Baumann will place her work on display in the Sedona Center lounge util December 15. The public is invited to join the artist for her opening reception on Wednesday, November 1, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

In addition to these events which are free to the public, OLLI is offering its usual amazing lineup of intriguing class topics. You must be a member of OLLI to participate in the low fee classes and workshops. Discuss Science News and Views, learn about historical figures like Thomas Jefferson, or take a class about Paris, the Seine, and the 2024 Olympics.

OLLI is a local, volunteer, peer to peer, adult education program. OLLI offers academic, not-for-credit programs in Sedona, Clarkdale, and Prescott. It is a peer-to-peer adult education program that presents many learning groups and workshops each term.
