Join David Spude, avid historian of the life and times of William Clark, on Tuesday, November 14, as he brings to light the complex and fascinating life of the man known as the Copper King. This FREE presentation will take place at Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Yavapai College, Verde Valley Campus, 601 Black Hills Drive, Clarkdale, room M-137, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm.

William Andrews Clark was the owner of United Copper Mining Company and founder of the town of Clarkdale, a company town for its miners. Learn about the wide range of businesses Clark owned and ruled as an absolute monarch, making him one of the richest men in America. He was not shy about displaying his wealth. His New York City mansion had 121 rooms. He used much of his wealth for philanthropy. Spude will also highlight some of the intrigue and controversy that filled Clark’s personal life.

OLLI is a local, volunteer, peer to peer, adult education program. OLLI offers academic, not-for-credit programs in Sedona, Clarkdale, and Prescott. It is a peer-to-peer adult education program that presents many learning groups and workshops each term.
