“YC & You Magazine” appears in local mailboxes countywide

Prescott, Arizona (September 29, 2025) – Haven’t been out to Yavapai College lately? You’re in luck. Now Yavapai College is coming to you – in thirty-two glossy pages. YC & You Magazine, a full-color chronicle of College students, courses, programs and plans, hits more than 80,000 mailboxes across Yavapai County this week.

“The magazine mirrors the growth of the College,” said Michael Grady, Yavapai College Marketing Specialist and YC & You Editor. “Yavapai College has so many different people, enterprises, and ideas at work now. We wanted a unified place where people can learn about the College and understand the full scope of it.”

YC & You Magazine, and its companion podcast, are designed to reach Yavapai County citizens on both platforms, relaying the academic innovations and opportunities the college offers, and giving voice to the compelling stories of students, staff and faculty.

The magazine covers college activity across Yavapai County and its seven campuses and learning centers – everything from student and alumni adventures to the latest academic programs. This premiere issue highlights the triumph of graduation by focusing on five very different students from Spring Commencement and the obstacles each of them overcame to achieve success.

Other stories include: The College’s new bachelor’s degree in Computer Science; a tour of the high-tech features in the Verde Campus’s new Center for Learning & Innovation; an introduction to Nicole Kennedy, the Yavapai College Foundation’s new executive director; and a column, by President Dr. Lisa Rhine, on education and its power to foster personal change. A dominant theme, Grady said, is student success: “You read these stories, and you feel inspired to pursue your own goals and address your own challenges.”

YC & You Magazine is available free of charge, at a mailbox near you. It is also available digitally on the Yavapai College website: www.yc.edu/ycmag

Yavapai College operates seven campuses and centers throughout Yavapai County and offers over one hundred degrees and certificates, four baccalaureate degrees, student and community services, and cultural events and activities. To learn more about YC, visit www.yc.edu.
