Meet our Staff

We are thankful that we have such a committed and skilled staff. Each has been chosen not only for their experience and educational background, but also for their warmth and commitment to enhancing the lives of children and families.

Jeannine Skousen – Director

My name is Jeannine Skousen and I am serving as the Interim Director at the Del E. Webb Family Enrichment Center. I have always had a passion for working with children.

I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Family Relations and Human Development from Arizona State University, and soon after created an in-home day care center. After getting married and having kids of my own, I ran the center for 10 more years until moving away from the Phoenix area to Prescott. I took a hiatus from my professional career while raising my family. In January 2008, the Del E Web Family Enrichment Center opened the infant classroom where I assisted in creating and opening the room as an infant educator. Since that time, I have held various positions in education, both for the center and for local school districts. Now, after being in the Toddler A classroom for a time, I am excited to continue to foster a creative and healthy learning environment for kids from this position.

I hope to continue to build a place where children feel comfortable and safe through their early years. Despite the recent struggles in the country and our community, the center is intended to be a place where parents and kids can reliably develop and grow. The staff and I are working to foster the care and support needed to prep the community's youngest members to be successful in their lives and contribute to building a better and community.

To that end, the center's focus is on providing authentic interactive opportunities to learn, both in a classroom and in the world around them. Each child is invited and included, regardless of their background or situation.

Keely Schadt – Administrative Assistant

My name is Keely Schadt and I have been a Prescott resident for over fourteen years. I feel very fortunate to call our beautiful town "home." I am a graduate of Yavapai College with an A.A.S. in Elementary Education. I shifted into Early Childhood Education after being hired at the Family Enrichment Center as a substitute, then as a full-time floater teacher. I have since moved into the role of Administrative Assistant for the Center.

I am so thrilled to be part of this wonderful child-centered program. The collaborative work amongst the entire team at the Family Enrichment Center is outstanding and continually inspires me in my work.

My amazing daughter is a graduate of the Preschool A classroom. She and I both still reflect fondly on the time she spent at the Center and the wonderful memories, connections, and experiences she made during her time here. I am truly delighted to share in the lives of our FEC children and families.

Bonnie Everett – Part-time Administrative Assistant

My name is Bonnie Everett or Miss Bonnie. My husband’s name is Ken. We have twin daughters that live in Los Angeles, CA.

I am a retired teacher and worked in Education for over 30 years. I graduated from University of Arizona with my Bachelor’s degree. I have taught Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades. My last 14 years I was a Literacy Coach in the Kyrene School District in Phoenix. I loved helping struggling readers and also guiding teachers in their literacy education.

We moved to Prescott a few years ago and love the 4 seasons, the green pine trees, the beautiful hikes, and all the community events. I feel very fortunate to work at the Family Enrichment Center. It combines my passion of helping students, teachers, and families.

Christina Sedillo – Infant Room Mentor Teacher

Hi Everyone! My name is Christina Sedillo and I am the Mentor Teacher in the Infant room. I was born and raised in Las Cruces, NM, a small town in southern New Mexico. I’d say one of the best things about my hometown is the chile, which I have to have with every meal when I visit. Since I was a child, I knew that I always wanted to be a teacher. I can recall being in first grade and helping the kindergarten children learn to read. I absolutely loved helping them and seeing their eyes light up when they were able to read the words on the page!

After high school, I graduated from New Mexico State University (NMSU) with my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. It was at NMSU that I really fell in love with Early Childhood Development. I was grateful to be a practicum student at an early childhood center on campus, much like the FEC, and had the opportunity to work with children from infants to preschoolers, and in classrooms with various curriculums. After graduation, I moved to Phoenix and became a Head Start Teacher. I was a Head Start teacher for 4 years and absolutely loved working with young children and their families! To me working with young children is so rewarding! So much happens in the first few years of life and for me, it's that spark that children get when they are able to accomplish something for the first time. The "firsts" really encouraged me to scaffold their learning to help them reach the next level in their development.

During my time at Head Start, I worked towards achieving my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education, and graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2018. I moved to Prescott with my partner and spent the last two years working for Arizona Department of Child Safety, which is also a rewarding position, though I am excited to get back into early learning. I am so excited to continue my own growth and development in the early childhood field at the FEC, and I cannot wait to be a part of many "firsts".

Alex Holmes – Infant Room Teacher

Hi Everyone! My name is Alexis Holmes but I go by Alex. I have lived in the Prescott area my whole life, and attended high school in Chino Valley. I began attending Yavapai College in the fall semester of 2017, with the original plan of completing an advanced certificate in early childhood education. This goal evolved into getting an associate's degree in early childhood education, which I completed in May 2020.

While attending YC, I became a student teacher at The Del E. Webb Family Enrichment Center and completed both practicums here. I quickly fell in love with the school and enrolled my daughter into Toddler A! I have been working at the FEC in some compacity for almost 4 years and I absolutely love it here!

Most of my experience is working with infants and young toddlers. I love this age group because I feel like I get to see something new every day and see my students grow into being their cute little selves. Also, baby snuggles!

When I'm not snuggling babies or hanging out with my daughter, Raelynn, you can find me reading a good book or working on an art project!

I'm so happy to continue my journey at the FEC and can't wait to see what's in store next!

Karely Rodriguez – Toddler A Mentor Teacher

Hello everyone, I’m Karely Rodriguez and I am the interim Mentor Teacher in the Toddler A classroom. I was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, and moved to Phoenix when I was 3 years old. After graduating from high school, my sister and I moved to Flagstaff where I attended and graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood Endorsement from NAU. Following graduation, I moved back to Phoenix and became the lead teacher of a preschool classroom. During that time, I was saving up money to travel with my partner and we were lucky enough to explore Southeast Asia for 2 months. That same year we welcomed our wonderful daughter, Orianna, who is a firecracker!

While working in Phoenix as a library assistant with program development, I realized how much I missed teaching. Last year we were able to move to Prescott and I received a position at the Family Enrichment Center. I have been working at the FEC since November as a Substitute teacher in the Preschool A classroom and from the first few questions of my interview, I knew that this was a place that aligned with my beliefs about education and it also provided all the support and guidance that I was looking for. I feel so lucky to have gotten this opportunity to work with the Toddler A classroom and I cannot wait to see what new adventures they have in store for me.

John Olivas – Toddler A Teacher

Hello, my name is John Olivas, I was born in Yuma, AZ, grew up in a small farming town about 55 minutes outside of Yuma called Roll, AZ. After graduating high school I moved to Prescott, AZ in 2000. I graduated with my A.A.S in Early Childhood Education in 2007, and furthermore was hired as a student worker the same year. I have been part of the Del E. Webb Family Enrichment Center here at the FEC for about 14 years. I have been in all the classrooms from the infant room to the preschool rooms, including the kitchen and front desk.

My favorite age group to work with is the infants to 2 year olds. Currently I am back at Yavapai College, working towards my business administration degree part time. When I am not teaching, I like watching sports, like soccer, baseball, and the Olympics. In addition, I enjoy hiking, zumba, exercising, playing video games, going to the movies, being outdoors and reading.

Erika Lord- Toddler B Mentor Teacher

I was born and raised in Phoenix. I moved to Prescott after my high school graduation in 2010. I started my educational journey as a nursing student. Then in 2012, I was hired as a student worker at the FEC in the Toddler B classroom and my life changed. I discovered a passion for working with young children and their families. I received my Associates in Early Childhood Education from Yavapai College and my Bachelors from Prescott College. I feel incredibly privileged to be a part of their young lives. In Toddler B, there are so many relationships and friendships developing.

I love watching children develop social skills and emotional intelligence in themselves and with each other. My favorite part of teaching toddlers is being able to sit and play with the children. That is when the magic happens. In June 2018, I married my best friend, Killian. Together we enjoy camping, kayaking, hiking, and traveling, especially to Las Vegas!

Lacey Harris – Toddler B Teacher

Hello, my name is Lacey Harris, and I am the Technician Teacher in Toddler B. I was born in Palm Springs, California, but I was raised in Prescott. I have lived in Prescott over 20 years and this is my forever home. Since I was a child, I always saw myself wanting to become a teacher. As I got older, I felt it might not be the best fit for me because, I would have to go to college. I didn't have the confidence, and this was because I thought I wasn't going to be good enough to go to college with a learning disability (Dyslexia). After high school I enrolled myself in Beauty school and ended up loving the profession so much I was a Cosmetologist for five years. In 2017 my body had other plans and could not do this profession anymore. The fall of 2017 I took a chance and enrolled in a class at Yavapai College in the Early Childhood Program. I fell in love with the atmosphere and the environment that this college was providing me. I felt that I was really following a path that I was made to do, and it has forever changed my life.

Following that fall I became a student teacher at the FEC and really got to have the hands-on learning from my wonderful mentor teacher Erika. Erika gave me the tools and the success to keep going and to not be so hard on myself. I was a student teacher with her for two years and then became a practicum student in the Preschool B Room. In 2019, I was offered the position to become the Toddler B Teacher and I was honored to get to be a part of this wonderful program.

Teaching in the Toddler B Room has taught me so much about myself because of the learnings from the children. I love laughing with them, dancing, and watching them figuring out tasks on their own. It is such an incredible feeling that children are so capable of what they can set their minds too.

In the fall of 2020,I got married to my longtime high school sweetheart Nelson. We have two dogs together and love to go out hiking with them. We both love traveling together and watching movies and eating lots of comfort food. Working at the FEC has giving me such hope and encouragement to follow this dream of mine. The children that have gone and are in my class have put such a warm sense of joy and magic in my heart that I get to experience every day, which I am very thankful for.
