General Disclosures

General Disclosure Statement (34 CFR 668.43)

General Disclosure Statement 668.43(c) requires institutions to make general disclosures and direct disclosures, in writing to the student by mail or email prior to prospective student enrollment in those instances where the institution has determined a degree or certificate program does not meet that student’s state’s licensure or certification requirements, as well as in instances where the institution has not made a determination as to whether a program does or does not meet state requirements.

It also requires institutions to make individual disclosures to currently enrolled students of the institution’s determination that a program’s curriculum does not meet the professional licensure or certification requirements for the state in which the student is located.

Yavapai College provides disclosures through a good faith effort whether a degree or certificate program meets academic requirements for professional licensure or certification outside of Arizona.  The Professional Licensure by State table identifies whether professional licensure:

  • Meets applicable professional licensure requirements;
  • Does not meet applicable professional licensure requirements; or
  • Have not been able to determine whether a program meets the professional licensure requirements.

General disclosures entail posting information that includes state-by-state determinations of whether the program fulfills educational requirements for licensure or certification in that state.

Direct disclosures are targeted communications to individual students who are enrolled in or who are considering enrolling in a program that is designed to lead to licensure. These disclosures must indicate whether the student’s chosen program fulfills the education requirements for professional licensure or certification within that student’s state of residence.

This information is subject to change.  It is highly recommended to speak with a Yavapai College Academic Advisor for further information.

Notice to Students Regarding Professional Licensure and Certification

Yavapai College degree and certificate programs for professions that require licensure or certification are intended to prepare the student for Arizona licensure and certification requirements. Admission into programs for professions that require licensure and certification does not guarantee that students will obtain a license or certificate. Licensure and certification requirements are set by agencies that are not controlled by or affiliated with Yavapai College.

Students planning to pursue professional licensure or certification in other states are responsible for determining whether, if they complete a Yavapai College program, they will meet their state’s requirements for licensure or certification. This disclosure is made pursuant to 34 CFR §668.43(a)(5)(v)(C).

Students can view the State Authorization website for more information.
