Basic Needs Resources

iShelter+ helps students quickly find support when they need it by connecting them to campus and community resources like food, housing, healthcare, mental health services, and financial aid options — making it easier to overcome challenges and stay focused on school. Basic Needs Office
Provides YC students with one-on-one, confidential support to help them navigate life challenges and meet basic needs. Assistance is available for concerns such as food or housing insecurity, finding affordable health insurance, and connecting with community resources. Students can also receive help applying for state public benefits (AHCCCS, SNAP, and childcare) as well as guidance with financial aid and scholarships.

Food Pantry
Provides YC students with access to a pantry, offering food and household essentials like toilet paper. Located on the Prescott campus, with delivery available for students at all campuses.

DES/SNAP Application Assistance
Provides YC students with one-on-one support as a certified DES Application Assistor site, helping them explore and apply for benefits like health insurance, SNAP, cash assistance, and childcare. The assistor works directly with DES to submit applications, upload documents, track progress, and resolve any issues.

On and Off Campus Housing
Provides YC students and employees with a variety of housing options, including traditional residence halls, shared apartments, single-family homes, tiny homes, and RV spaces.

Mental Health Counseling
Provides YC students with free, confidential mental health support to help promote emotional well-being and academic success. Offers online video therapy and referrals to in-person counseling with licensed professionals. Students can also receive help connecting to services, understanding insurance options, and accessing community mental health resources. Email studentwellness@yc.edu for more information.

Alcohol & Drug Prevention Services
Provides YC students with alcohol and drug prevention education, resources, and support to help them make healthy choices. Students can access confidential support, learn about the effects of substance use, and get referrals to additional help if needed. The program also promotes wellness through education and substance-free activities.

Clothing Closet
Provides YC students with free professional attire for interviews, internships, work, or presentations. Located on the Prescott campus. No appointment is required to shop. For donation questions, please call the number listed below.

Child Care
Provides YC students with a safe, nurturing childcare program that supports children’s learning and development through the Del E. Webb Family Enrichment Center. Located on the Prescott campus, with services available to YC students and families from all campuses.

Campus Safety
Provides YC students with 24-hour safety and law enforcement services to maintain a secure campus environment. The office responds to emergencies, offers safety escorts, shares prevention resources, and connects students with a confidential victim advocate for support after a crime or traumatic event.
