The humanities deepen awareness of the complexities of the human condition by informing our understanding of our past, what it means to be human, and our potential for the future. Courses in the humanities help students develop the skills needed to critically, creatively, and ethically analyze, examine, interpret, and create products of human thought and imagination.

Such skills are necessary for students to become well-rounded, informed, and conscientious citizens and members of the workforce.
