🦉 College Credit Pathway

The College Credit Pathway is an option for adults seeking to obtain their High School Equivalency Diploma in Arizona. Effective July 1, 2018, adults can earn their HSE Diploma by demonstrating completion of 25 specific college credits along with passing the AZ Civics Test.

This option allows learners who have already begun or completed college coursework to apply their academic progress toward earning an HSE Diploma, reducing duplication of effort and encouraging continued education.

What is the difference between HSE and GED®?

The High School Equivalency (HSE) is the diploma you earn. It shows you have the same academic skills as a high school graduate. The GED® is the test you take to earn that diploma.

In Arizona, one way students earn their HSE diploma is by passing the GED® test, which includes reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. So, the GED® is a pathway to earning your HSE diploma.
