Prescott, Arizona — Yavapai College Men’s and Women’s Soccer went on the road yesterday against Arizona Western College. The Roughriders lost 1-5 for the men and 1-4 for the women. Both teams travel again on Sat. Oct. 3 to face Mohave College in Bullhead City.
Roughrider Facundo Bellindier-Parada scored the single unassisted goal for the men, and he, Nery Martinez and David Marku each had three shots on goal. Christian Rimbu has 12 saved, but allowed five goals, including two in the final five minutes of the match. They are now 6-3-1, and 1-2-1 in conference.
Yavapai College Women’s Soccer fell 1-4 against the Matadors, with Dottie Bethers kicking the solitary goal with an assist from Eliza Palmer. Jessica Welch made 13 saves, and the Roughriders are now 3-7-2 and 2-2-1 in conference play.
Attendance at Yavapai College home games for Women's Volleyball and Men's and Women's Soccer is free of charge, and all are welcome.
