Clarkdale, Arizona — The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Yavapai College invites the community to take a break, bring a lunch, and join in on two lively "Munch & Learn" programs this fall. These free Thursday lunchtime gatherings are designed to spark curiosity, encourage conversation, and connect neighbors through learning.
Each session runs from 12:30–1:45 p.m. and can be enjoyed in person at the Verde Valley Campus (601 Black Hills Drive, Clarkdale, Bldg. G, Room 106) or online via Zoom.
OLLI will present a free program that is open to the public on Thu. Oct. 29, at which Northern Arizona Health Care (NAH) will be represented by a team including Chief Operating Officer Bo Cofield and VP and administrator of Verde Valley area services for NAH Rick Gray.
NAH is the largest healthcare organization in the region, with a team of more than 3,000 doctors, nurses and other experts. Comprehensive healthcare services are offered through two hospitals: Flagstaff Medical Center, a 270+ bed facility; and Verde Valley Medical Center, a 99-bed facility. It is a nonprofit healthcare system, governed by a volunteer board of directors.
For more than 50 years, Northern Arizona Healthcare has provided high-quality healthcare for patients in northern Arizona. The senior team will share updates on recently expanded services and future plans for this area. They would also like to hear from the people of the area regarding questions and concerns about the important subject of health care.
Part Two of an updated look at UFOs, Aliens and Other Things Extraterrestrial will be on Thu. Nov. 5. Presenter Rick Rokosz is a retired aerospace executive, OLLI facilitator, and a self-professed Space / UFO geek. Rokosz picks up where he left off with his humorous approach to an update of this topic based on the most recent Pentagon files release. Session two will include a brief recap of session one for those who may have missed it and will continue with interactive audience dialogue and discussion about UFOs and a myriad of other things of an extraterrestrial nature. Come and be part of the out-of-this-world fun experience.
OLLI is a local, volunteer, peer-to-peer, adult education program (part of Yavapai College) that offers many learning groups and workshops each term for a nominal fee. Its second fall term is scheduled to start October 26, and a special “Discover OLLI” series that is free and open to the public is being offered at the Cottonwood Library on Tuesdays from 1 to 4 p.m. and at the Sedona Community library.
