Prescott, Arizona — Yavapai College Men’s Soccer hosted Glendale Community College Aug. 26 at Mountain Valley Park in Prescott Valley, besting the Gauchos 1-0.
The goal was scored by Micky Finnamnore, his first of the season. Three saves were made by Afonso Fernandes. Juan Avella had two shots on goal, while the Roughriders had seven total shots to Glendale’s six.
Yavapai College Men’s Soccer is now 3-0, and will next face Pima Aug. 29.
Yavapai College Women’s Volleyball hosted Ottawa University of Arizona on the same day in the Walraven Gym on the Prescott campus. The Roughriders won three sets: 25-16, 25-16, and 25-17.
The big plays on offense and defense came from Keyara Haywood, with eight kills and six blocks. Yavapai College is now 3-1 and will face Chandler-Gilbert Community College Aug. 29.
