Prescott, Arizona — Yavapai College Men’s Soccer hosted Mohave College on Sat. Sep. 12 at Amphitheater Park in Prescott Valley. The Roughriders tied 3-3 in their first conference match of the season.
Yavapai College was up 3-1 in the second half, but gave up two goals. Three goals were scored by Juan Avella, Facundo Bellindier-Parada, and Micky Finamore with an assist by Dale Baker. Afonso Fernandes had seven saves.
Yavapai College Men’s Soccer is now 5-1-1 on the season and 0-0-1 in conference. The Roughriders are on the road against Cochise College on Tue. Sep. 15 at 4:30 p.m.
Women’s Soccer hosted Mohave College on the same day, beating the Bighorns 2-0 in their first conference match.
Yavapai’s two goals were scored by Nataly Arangure and Dottie Bethers, both unassisted. No goals were allowed by Jessica Welch, who had six saves. The Roughriders took nine shots on goal, from both Arangure and Jillian Jones.
Yavapai College Women’s Soccer is now 2-5-1 on the season, and 1-0-0 in conference. Their next game is away at Cochise College on Tue. Sep. 15 at 3 p.m.
