Accreditation Process

Yavapai College is accredited on a ten-year basis by the Higher Learning Commission. Accreditation verifies that the college meets established standards of quality and remains engaged in continuous improvement.

Accreditation is a comprehensive review of the college’s mission, educational quality, institutional effectiveness, integrity, resources, and commitment to improvement. Yavapai College provides evidence demonstrating how it fulfills the Higher Learning Commission’s accreditation criteria and assumed practices.

Yavapai College’s accreditation work includes both institutional assurance and a focused improvement initiative.

Assurance Process

The college collects evidence and prepares an Assurance Argument addressing the Higher Learning Commission’s criteria for accreditation and assumed practices.

Improvement Process

Under the Open Pathway, the college identifies a major institutional improvement effort and completes it as a Quality Initiative for reaffirmation of accreditation.
