Prescott, Arizona — Yavapai College Women’s Soccer went on the road yesterday to claim a victory against Cochise College, winning the match 1-0. 

Mari Holladay scored off of a penalty kick late in the second half. Bethanee Vargas had four shots on goal, with an addition three shots from Nataly Arangure. 

Roughriders goalkeeper Jessica Welch had 12 saves and allowed no goals—a feat that represents one of the top five defensive performances in the history of the Yavapai College Women’s Soccer program. 

Yavapai College Women’s Soccer is now 2-0 in ACCAC conference play and is 3-5-1 on the season overall. The Roughriders host Eastern Arizona College on Sat. Sep. 19 at 7 p.m.
