Prescott, Arizona — Yavapai College Volleyball hosted Eastern Arizona College yesterday, and despite rallying in the third set, the Roughriders lost 3-1. 

Chloe Rivers and Caitlin Celestino helped secure a 25-22 win in the third set, but Eastern Arizona College took the first two sets 25-19 and the fourth 25-17. Yavapai’s Hanna Gamez had 12 kills and Keyara Haywood had 11. 

McKenzie Wright had 26 assists, with eight digs each from Wright and Yuliana Apodaca. Gamez made four solo blocks, and Celestino had two service aces. 

The Roughriders are now 7-3 on the season and 1-1 in conference play. They go on the road to face undefeated Arizona Western College on Fri. Sep. 18 at 7 p.m.
