Prescott, Arizona — Yavapai College Women’s Volleyball went on the road Fri. Sep. 18 to face Arizona Western College.

Despite a team-high five kills and a game-high three blocks from Keyara Haywood, the Roughriders fell 0-3, going 12-25, 21-25 and 16-25 in three sets. McKenzie Wright had 12 assists and eight digs.

Yavapai College Women’s Soccer is now 7-4 on the season, and 1-2 in conference. The next match is on the road against Eastern Arizona on Fri. Sep. 25 at 7 p.m. 

Men’s and Women’s Soccer hosted Eastern Arizona College on Sat. Sep. 19. Judah Levy had two shots on goal, but the Roughriders lost 0-2. Afonso Fernandes had three saves but gave up two goals. Yavapai Men’s Soccer is now 5-2-1 and 0-1-1 in conference play. Their next match is against the College of Southern Nevada on Sat. Sep. 26 at 4:30 p.m., at home. 

Yavapai College Women’s Soccer had 13 saves from Jessica Welch, the ACCAC Division 1 goalkeeper of the week, and in spite of the offensive efforts from Jillian Jones, Dottie Bethers and Nataly Arangure, Yavapai lost 0-1. 

Women’s Soccer is 3-6-1 on the season and 2-1 in conference, and they host the College of Southern Nevada on Sat. Sep. 26 at 7 p.m.
