UPDATE: All YC campuses and centers are closed. All Classes are canceled. Operations and Services are Closed.

Due to the severe icy conditions, Yavapai College classes, operations, and services are closed and canceled.

Employees should use the day to take care of themselves, and their families, and to tend to the ice and snow at their homes.

The following procedures are in place on Friday, February 9:

  • All campuses and centers are closed to employees, students, and visitors. Nobody outside of essential personnel is permitted on campus.
  • All buildings are locked, and key card access for employees is disabled.
  • All classes are canceled.
  • All operations and services are canceled.
  • The Eatery will be open at 10 a.m.
  • The FEC is closed.
  • Barricades may be present in front of entrances. These are placed to prohibit traffic from entering roadways and parking lots. Only YC Police are permitted to move barricades. Any other individual who moves a barricade is subject to a citation.
  • Only authorized facilities personnel are allowed to move snow or ice. No other employee should attempt to do so on college property.
  • Facilities personnel will be using heavy equipment to move snow. Please stay away from the equipment. Do not approach facilities personnel who are actively using the equipment. The equipment is loud, and they may not hear you. Additionally, they are not expecting people to be around, which leads to dangerous
    situations for you and them.
  • Essential personnel (EX: facilities, police) will be given instructions by their supervisor regarding their work schedules.
