The Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Safety Administration optimized degree prepares current and aspiring public safety professionals to lead with integrity, resilience, and innovation in a rapidly evolving world.

The program fosters critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and collaborative leadership while emphasizing the integration of governance, policy, technology, and community engagement.

Through applied learning and interdisciplinary coursework, graduates are equipped to enhance organizational effectiveness, advance community trust, and address complex challenges across public safety professions.

The BASPSA optimized degree can be completed in (3) three years for full-time students. Plus, 8-week course options allow students to accelerate their progress, with new sessions starting in August, October, January, March, and June.

In the Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Safety Administration, you’ll experience practical, leadership-driven coursework built around the realities of today’s public safety work. Classes focus on the current challenges facing public safety agencies and how leaders respond to change, emerging risks, and community expectations.

You’ll develop hands-on skills in emergency operations, crisis management, and multi-agency coordination, learning how decisions are made before, during, and after critical incidents. Coursework emphasizes clear communication, community engagement, and ethical leadership—preparing you to lead teams, manage incidents, and work effectively with partner agencies.

The program also strengthens core administrative and leadership skills, including policy development, incident investigation, after-action reporting, and securing funding through grants. Throughout the program, assignments are designed to connect directly to your professional experience.

The capstone project brings everything together, allowing you to apply what you’ve learned to a real public safety issue. By the end of the program, you’ll be prepared to step confidently into leadership and administrative roles across public safety organizations.
