Yes. You may continue working with the same advisor throughout your program. You may also request an advisor outside your program specialization.

Some students may also qualify for the Student Support Services TRIO program . The program provides advising, individualized tutoring, scholarship assistance, success workshops, and other college-support services.

Bring any records that may help your advisor understand your academic history:

  • Unofficial transcripts from colleges or universities you previously attended

  • Your high school transcript, when applicable
  • A list of questions, academic goals, or programs you want to discuss

Yavapai College's general academic progress standards are published in the current college catalog.

Academic progress determinations do not automatically transfer from one institution to another. Contact the institution you plan to attend for its specific academic-standing and transfer-credit policies.

Many Yavapai College courses transfer to other institutions, but the receiving college or university makes the final decision about how individual courses apply to its programs.

Meet with an academic advisor and verify course equivalencies with the institution you plan to attend before registering.

Use AZTransfer (opens in a new window) to research how Arizona community-college courses transfer to Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and the University of Arizona.

The current college catalog explains these terms and other academic policies students should understand.

An academic advisor can also explain how the policies apply to your individual academic record and help you identify appropriate next steps.
