The Simulation Training Labs (Sim Labs) on the Verde Valley Campus support multiple programs in Health Sciences and Public Services, giving students the opportunity to practice real-world scenarios in a safe and controlled learning environment.
Training mannequins are used to replicate real-life medical situations, allowing students to take vital signs, connect equipment, and even simulate childbirth. Some simulation equipment can record and play back the session, enabling students to review their performance, identify mistakes, and make improvements before working with real patients.
All Nursing program students have access to these advanced simulation tools as part of their clinical preparation.
The Nursing Assistant Program on the Verde Valley Campus is approved by the Arizona State Board of Nursing and offered each summer in an accelerated three-week format. Students gain foundational skills to provide safe, compassionate care in long-term care facilities, hospitals, and home health environments.
Through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on clinical experience, students learn essential activities of daily living and patient care techniques. Graduates are prepared to take the state knowledge and skills exams to become licensed or certified and begin a rewarding career in nursing.

Upon completion, graduates are prepared to sit for national certification exams and enter the workforce as confident, job-ready phlebotomy technicians. Classes are offered every fall and spring semester.
