Demand
Does the program respond to student interest, community needs and current or emerging labor-market demand?
Planning, assessment and improvement
Academic Program Review helps Yavapai College evaluate program performance, identify opportunities for improvement and make informed decisions about planning, budgeting and student success.
Why the process matters
The review process provides academic departments and occupational programs with timely information about program demand, employment outcomes, transfer alignment, student completion and resource use. Faculty and staff use this evidence to recognize strengths, address areas for improvement and recommend future priorities.
Evaluation framework
Each program or department is evaluated through a consistent set of questions designed to support clear, evidence-based decisions.
Does the program respond to student interest, community needs and current or emerging labor-market demand?
Does the occupational program prepare students for employment, sustainable wages and the workforce needs of the community?
Do transfer degrees and certificates align with AZTransfer, university expectations and appropriate academic standards?
Are students progressing through and completing the program within a reasonable period of time?
Are staffing, facilities, equipment and other resources allocated equitably and used effectively?
What actions, investments or changes are recommended based on the evidence gathered during the review?
